The Jaimie Anderson Parliamentary Internship provides three young Canadians with a four-month (May-August) paid internship in the office of a federal Member of Parliament.
Each intern will be provided with a stipend of $2,000 per month, paid by the Internship program.
During the summer, the program will arrange meetings and discussions with people in the news media, politics, and business to help provide a rounded understanding of the political process in and around Parliament Hill. MPs will choose the nature of the work the interns will be assigned, which could include constituency case work, policy research, writing, and general office support.
For any of you interested in a career in politics, I encourage you to apply. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain valuable experience, build a professional network, and learn more about our democratic system. The internship is open to Canadians students in any undergraduate or graduate degree program. The application deadline is February 28. You can watch a video from the 2012 program below.
